It connects me with me. It connects me with you.

It’s how I deal with the difficult times.

It’s how I feel Joy. It’s how I love.

It’s how I know I am home.

Recently, I brought some juice and cookies to my mom in her senior living home.

I stood in the entry way. Separated from her by an unopened sliding glass door. Unable to enter.

They are in lockdown.

Even in the best of circumstances it’s difficult for my mom to hear or see much. And her brain is a bit post stroke befuddled.

I stood on the other side of the glass door waving my arms around like I was trying to scare off a bear. Or like I was directing an airplane down the landing strip.

No response.

Then I stood still, present, silently and peacefully sending her love.

As I turned to leave, her orange juice and Chips Ahoys on a bench in the entry way, she smiled and silently mouthed, ‘I love you’.

No hugs, no stories, no singing songs together. Just a simple smile and love silently sent.

So many simple expressions of love and connection are different in this time of Corona.

If you’re curious about coming home into your body. Getting peaceful in your own skin. Being present, even in challenging situations. Please private message or text me, let’s chat.

with loving presence,
