Because it connects me to myself. Because it connects me with you. Because it reminds me what I care about. It’s how I deal with the chaos. It’s how I express joy. It’s how I learn. It’s how I love. It’s how we change the world. Because it’s how I know I am home.
On Saturday morning I was at the farmer’s market. Buying vegetables. My last stop was honey, from a friendly old farmer.
An audible wave swept through the market. From one corner to the other. A crowd of over a hundred shoppers and vendors roared. Every cell in my body came alive. I felt like a living sparkler. Instantly, without words I knew why everyone was cheering.
No hugs. Smiles covered in masks. We all knew. Joe and Kamala won!!
Surrounded by horns honking, happy people waving and shouts of joy; I bicycled home with a big smile on my unmasked face.
After 3 & 1/2 breathless years, my body exhaled a long sigh of relief.
With Big Appreciation for us All!
